Hood discussed details continue to emerge regarding Jalen Hurts' blood clot and the decisions by the Philadelphia Eagles to allow him to play and fly overseas with it, so does scrutiny around those decisions.  Head coach Nick Sirianni faced said scrutiny on Monday in the form of a news conference. Hurts have since been diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary emboli, which means he has blood clots in both lungs.

I think preseason the consensus was Defensive line, but the fact that Poles reverse-engineer the defense to provide “pressure from the secondary” for a god awful secondary.

This just isn't the pathway to winning the North again.

Keenum passed for two touchdowns in his first start in almost three years, and the Bears shut down Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles for a 27-7 victory on Monday night.  Stepping in for Caleb Williams, Keenum was 24 for 34 for 247 yards. He also scored his first rushing touchdown since 2019 on a 1-yard plunge with 7:19 left, capping a 13-play drive that took more than eight minutes off the clock.

I think more is in store on Monday night, Are the Bears beating the Eagles behind Case Keenum at QB?  The bad news from the weekend at QB: Caleb suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain and is expected to miss multiple weeks. The good news, all the people who called him out for being soft have to eat crow.

The White Sox clinched a playoff spot with a 9-1 rout of the Royals after back-to-back 100-loss seasons.

The White Sox began the day one game behind the Cleveland Guardians. Pete Crow-Armstrong joined the 40-40 club by stealing his 40th base to go along with his major league-leading 45 home runs, and the Chicago Cubs clinched their second straight postseason berth a 2-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday.

Hood discussed the Bears still are not ruling Caleb out for Monday, but Case Keenum was the QB who practiced and spoke. Ben Johnson really sung his praises at the podium. What chances do you give the Bears Monday with Keenum?  Practice windows open for both Shemar Turner and Noah Sewell, but not Kyler Gordon. I'm at a firm with zero games played for Kyler at this point.

Hour 1: Kap & J. Hood discussed the White Sox and Cubs both had a chance to clinch a postseason berth tonight, but the White Sox lost to the Royals after their pitching imploded early last night. Hudson only got one out as the opener, and the Sox never fully clawed back from a 4-0 early deficit. They will likely clinch this week, whether they do it themselves or Houston loses games, but it feels a bit like the magic has run out. The Cubs hopefully will get another walk-off win, but the good news there is that Philly lost, so at least they won't fall to the bottom, and hopefully the Dodgers can beat SD, so everyone keeps pace. Still, handle your own business and clinch!

Hood discussed the White Sox bats exploded tonight to the tune of 14 runs and counting to keep pace with Cleveland and at least maintain their lead over Houston. This is a great sign of what they can be next week when the calendar turns to the Postseason, and I think we'd be silly to write them off as an early exit. What is the ceiling for this Sox team when they hit?

Hour 1: Kap & J. Hood discussed next man up gets another man... Tyson Bagent is in the league's concussion protocol, and as of right now Case Keenum is in line to start on Monday Night Football... I don't have a big reaction to this, because I don't think the Bears chances to win Monday change much going from Bagent to Keenum.  Ian Rapaport reported that Caleb will miss 2-4 weeks with his hamstring injury, but the Bears are still resisting officially ruling him out on Monday. Would you even want him to play if he were cleared? Shouldn't the Bears be extra cautious with this?

Hood discussed the Bears getting the best possible news on Caleb's injury, and the reaction nationally has been to make fun of him for not being tough and being carted off the field with a grade 1 hamstring injury. Do you find this to be a bizarre reaction from fans, personally, but fans are going to fan?   With the Caleb news trending positive, are we more On To Philadelphia and the result from the Vikings game goes in the garbage, or are there new concerns about this team going forward?

The defense allowed more points than they would have liked, but they scored enough points to win any game that they played.  During the offseason, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said that he wanted to have the highest-scoring offense in the history of the NFL. That's a lofty goal, but it's hard to discount his goal when he comes out and leads a 59-point effort in Week 1.

After a week or two of 'how do you get by for a month of the season' it turns into 'how do you replace him for the whole season,' Who can step up in his place?  The practice yesterday was an important one in Head Coach Ben's eyes, often referred to it as a 'big' or 'important' practice and said a lot of it is about evidence for many of the players when speaking. Swift with another monster day, and the offense once again looked great. The LT battle continued.

White Sox give their fan base a sigh of relief, take the last two against the Guards--Davis Martin was kind of saved by the rain…Rest of the AL Central is on their tails as the Tigers seem to finally be what everyone thought they might be in March.
