Our dear, late friend and guardian angel, PR guru Howard Bragman had just invited us to meet the new man in his life on a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Howard was offering us a safe space, away from the paparazzi and nosy tabloid reporters, after a particularly tough day negotiating our exit from ABC.  Howard wanted us to meet the man he said he was going to marry one day, Mike Maimone, but God had other plans. Sony Pictures has officially fired longtime announcer Jim Thornton from “Wheel Of Fortune” after photos show Thornton on a known pedophile chatroom while on an American Airlines flight back in May. Now, TMZ has released new photos from the passenger who documented Thornton’s online activities, showing what he did after the flight attendant confronted him and told him to close his laptop. Thornton was looking for advice from AI about being digitally linked to the pedophile chatroom, even suggesting he was panicked. TMZ also identified Thornton’s chatroom handle, which exposes exactly what he was saying on the chatroom while in flight. We want to warn you, the messages are extremely disturbing. A one hour delay, turned into a three hour ordeal, that ultimately ended in a mistrial. After a judge from the Massachusetts Supreme Court denied the defense’s last-ditch effort for an emergency stay, Judge Sullivan officially declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial. There was no emotion on the faces of Lindsay Clancy, her family, or any of the jurors after the announcement was made, following 40 hours of deliberations and a grueling 5 week trial. Reddington wanted the holdout juror to be questioned in open court, but the judge ultimately denied his request, saying there was no indication the juror has refused to deliberate or follow the law. Reddington then accused the judge of softly, glossing over his instructions to the jury, and that’s when Sullivan fired back, defending himself. A dramatic turn of events in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial. There was a heated sidebar between the attorneys, the judge and Lindsay Clancy after the jury sent a note saying one juror has refused to follow the judge’s instructions on reasonable doubt. It’s hard to believe that after all the drama of the morning and the final “dynamite’ charge from the judge, the jury has agreed to come back on Thursday and try again. A major announcement from the number one syndicated show on TV: ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ is suspending its longtime announcer Jim Thorton after it was “made aware of allegations” stemming from an American Airlines flight back in May. The details are scarce, but reportedly a fellow passenger on Thorton’s flight complained about him to a flight attendant, who then alerted the pilot, who then called law enforcement. Thorton’s reps have denied that he engaged in any illegal conduct and said police determined there was no wrongdoing within five minutes of talking to him. 56 year old Dawn Light stood before another Massachusetts judge this morning facing the serious charge of juror intimidation after being caught by police filming jurors in the Lindsay Clancy trial.  Prosecutors claim the retired nurse and mother was in a restricted parking lot and adamantly denied taking photos of jurors, only for police to find a video of them in her deleted files.  Her attorneys claim it was just a misunderstanding, and that Light was only trying to get a picture of Lindsay Clancy. It was an amazing two hour catch up to see what happened to all of the Islanders, once they left the Fiji villa…. And there was a lot to unpack! First, we’re still not sure whether or not Sincere and Melanie are a couple and we’re still not sure we believe Carl and Aniya ever were one (they claim they are).  The drama broke out when Sol began complaining again about her treatment in the villa, but was humiliated after producers showed never before seen clips that proved otherwise. The state of Florida is executing its 14th death row inmate of the year at 6pm ET. 74-year-old Harold Gene Lucas was 24 when he shot his teenaged ex-girlfriend in the head with a rifle and injured her two friends who were there to protect her. 16-year-old Jill Piper had Lucas arrested for trespassing and threatening to kill her the week before he went back to her home, to make good on his threat.  Lucas was sentenced to death five times over the past five decades and has now waived his final appeal saying, “The sooner it’s over, the better I’ll enjoy it. One week shy of the 30th anniversary of the shooting death of Tupac Shakur, 63-year-old Duane Davis was found guilty of murdering the rap icon on the Vegas Strip. Honolulu police have confirmed their homicide division is leading the investigation into the death of 50 year old Jenny Lupton, whose body was found after falling from a 24th floor hotel balcony in Waikiki.  Lupton’s family insists the loving mom to a 15 year old son would never take her own life; she had been enjoying her layover with a flight attendant friend and had just gotten a tattoo the day before her death, with plans to color it in once she retuned home to Oklahoma.  Police have not determined her cause of death yet and say they plan to “limit the release of certain information” to preserve the integrity of the investigation, while asking the public to refrain from sharing unverified information while they continue their work.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The prosecution began its closing arguments by acknowledging Lindsay Clancy was mentally ill, but pointed out that she had an “abundance of help” and was in a privileged position. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague told jurors that Clancy lied to health care providers, lied to her husband, friends and family., telling them she was getting better. As expected, the jury heard a dramatic and powerful closing argument from Lindsay Clancy defense attorney Kevin Reddington. Reporters inside the courtroom described both Clancy and several jurors wiping tears from their eyes as Reddington showed pictures of the once happy family that he said was ripped apart because “of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got." Yes, their crimes are horrifically linked: Andrea Yates and Lindsay Clancy both claim they were “commanded” to kill their children one by one, both were former nurses, both were raised Catholic and both pleaded guilty by reason of insanity, citing postpartum psychosis. But 25 years later, turns out one of the state’s star witnesses, Dr. Avram Mack, who testified Clancy knew right from wrong and is criminally responsible for killing her kids, works for the very psychiatrist who was later proven to have falsely testified against Andrea Yates. Testimony has wrapped in the case against Massachusetts mom, Lindsay Clancy, and closing arguments are set for Thursday. The final witness was one of three rebuttal witnesses called by the prosecution, all of whom testified that Clancy was not suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time she strangled her three young children to death. Judge Paul A. Engelmayer gave Ghislaine Maxwell a verbal spanking while ruling against her bid to overturn her sex trafficking convictions for her role in the Jeffrey Epstein saga. Judge Engelmayer wrote a 67 page ruling where he calls Maxwell’s claims meritless and frivolous and said the Epstein file release not only didn’t exonerate her, it further incriminated her and reinforced the verdict against her. He also made it very clear, Maxwell is out of legal options, writing that no further appeals would be considered. This is a disturbing trend that is happening weekly, if not daily: a man kills his entire family and then himself. 44-year-old Alan Smith was reportedly kicked out of his Billings, Montana home, but came back with a gun during dinner and murdered his sister, her four children, his parents and his 90-year-old grandmother in a wheelchair. He then set the home on fire and took his own life as police were approaching. In the middle of his rampage, his 12-year-old niece was able to call 9-1-1,  where dispatchers heard gunfire in the background. Unfortunately, it was too late by the time police arrived, and unfortunately this summer has proven to be among the deadliest in family mass shootings. It was another contentious day in court that once again, ended abruptly after the state’s rebuttal witness began to testify to children’s inherent “strong will to survive’. A horrific story out of Pennsylvania: an 18-year-old college freshman brutally stabbed to death in her own vehicle, by her own boyfriend. 18-year-old Royce Moser told police a demon took over him and told him to stab Karoline Heintz after a late night argument. Moser then called his mom, who reportedly admitted to helping her son cover up the crime, cleaning up blood from the car and her son’s clothing, then throwing away the murder weapon. We are learning more about the most recent, horrific mass murder involving a man taking out an entire family, and then taking his own life. Police say 36-year-old Benjamin Parker murdered his girlfriend, her mother, her grandmother, her best friend and boyfriend, along with the family’s pets and then drove 200 miles and killed himself. The judge in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial was fuming after a prosecution rebuttal witness brought up Clancy’s Catholic faith and her understanding of mortal sin. As we record this episode, Florida state officials are in the final stages of preparing 61-Year-Old William Frances Silvia for execution. Silvia is set to die by lethal injection for the 2006 murder of his estranged wife, Patricia and the attempted murder of her mom. Silvia lost his job, his home, then decided to purchase a shotgun before heading to the home of his estranged wife’s mother to try and reconcile with her, ultimately shooting her mom first, then killing Patricia in front of her family. Georgia democrat Jon Ossoff made a comment that has set off a political firestorm, publicly mocking President Trump’s relationship with his executive assistant, Natalie Harp.  Ossoff insinuated there was an inappropriate closeness between Harp and Trump, and his comments came on the heels of a new book by New York Times reporters who quoted sources saying Trump believes Harp loves him as much as his wife and kids. As our 60 day ceasefire with Iran officially expires today, President Trump is lashing out at our decades long ally, Oman. A battle for custody of a newborn baby boy, whose parents wanted to terminate after a serious medical diagnosis, is brewing in Texas. A “special court conference” is getting underway today in a Manhattan federal courtroom, after both the defense and prosecution requested a last minute hearing where sources claim Luigi Mangione will plead guilty to federal charges. If that happens, it puts his state murder trial set to begin in three weeks into question, with the defense likely to argue for dismissal on double jeopardy grounds. It was another fascinating day in court in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial. Three witnesses took the stand on Thursday, all of them from law enforcement. We learned about the searches, texts and notes Lindsay Clancy made in the months, weeks and even on the day of the murders of her three young children. It’s hard to believe that for two days in a row we have reports of a husband and father killing his entire family. This horrific tragedy took place on an idyllic tree lined street in a Minneapolis suburb Wednesday morning. A mother dropping off her child at her neighborhood, family run daycare called police after witnessing the father and co-owner of the daycare killing his wife and 7-year-old daughter and then heading upstairs and shooting himself. Hours later, police found a 78-year-old woman, who they believe is the man’s mother, stabbed to death in her home a short distance away. A disturbing report is coming from the USS Abraham Lincoln, now in its 9 month of deployment in the Middle East. Family members are demanding answers and action from the U.S. military after hearing from their loved ones that either they have attempted to jump overboard or have stopped other service members from doing so in recent weeks. There are reports of deteriorating conditions, from lack of food and hygiene supplies, to no hot water aboard the aircraft carrier, but this biggest issue is the delayed and open ended deployment that was supposed to end back in May. An LA grand jury’s indictment of 32-year-old Nick Reiner was unsealed on Wednesday, revealing new allegations against the son accused of killing his parents, Hollywood legends Rob and Michell Reiner.  Reiner is now facing the added special circumstance of “lying in wait” which gives prosecutors the option of seeking the death penalty. Reiner pleaded not guilty to the charges and will be back in court in a matter of days fighting to free up at least $1.5 million from a trust set up for him by his parents to rehire high profile criminal defense attorney Alan Jackson. It was by far the most emotional day in court in the Lindsay Clancy trial, the 36-year-old Massachusetts mom who has admitted to killing her three young children. The prosecution called six witnesses to the stand on Wednesday, but it was the final 2 medical examiners who went over 5-year-old Cora and 3-year-old Dawson’s autopsies that sent Clancy over the edge. The third inmate to be executed on August 13th will be Jeremy Williams who was convicted of the 2021 rape and murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland. William’s lethal injection will be Alabama’s first execution of the year and it’s scheduled to take place at 6pm CT. The evidence against Williams is disturbing and irrefutable; he filmed the entire assault and ultimate death of this little girl and as hard as it is to believe, authorities say her own mother was complicit and is serving a 20 year sentence for human sex trafficking. Oklahoma plans to execute its third inmate of the year, putting 70-year-old Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez to death for the 2003 murder of his girlfriend, Olympic Fisher. Rodriguez first confronted Fisher and shot her in the right eye, she survived, but once police arrived, he shot a second bullet, hitting her in the left eye, killing her. Rodriguez doesn’t deny the crime and has expressed regret, telling the parole board that he understands it’s time “for me to pay for what I did.”  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Thursday, August 13th is set to become a historic day for inmates on death row. A total of three men will be put to death in three separate states for their crimes. First up, is Anthony Darrel Hines, who was convicted for the 1985 murder of Catherine Jean Jackson Jenkins, a hotel maid working just outside of Nashville. Hines raped and stabbed Jenkins and although he turned himself into police, he maintains his innocence. In a surprising statement, 28-year-old Karoline Leavitt has just announced she will be resigning her role as White House Press Secretary at the end of the month. The Department of Homeland Security is planning to spend up to $20 million to purchase a new tool for ICE agents: electric shock gloves. “G.L.O.V.E” stands for “generated low output voltage emitter” and they deliver painful electric shocks used to “gain compliance” from a suspect within three seconds. The pain is described as being similar to a bee sting and proponents hope it could prevent some of the recent shooting deaths we’ve seen between ICE agents and immigrants.  Those opposed question whether ICE agents can be trusted with these gloves, and could be a recipe for more harm to the public.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It’s an unthinkable headline to wake up to, a husband and father calls 911 to report that he’s killed his entire family and when police arrive, all six people are dead, including the killer.  That’s what Kansas officials are dealing with this week after 53 year old Ronald Williams shot his four children, their mother and himself this week.  It comes on the heels of a Michigan father just last month killing his six kids and wife and setting his home on fire, and an Iowa father killing his six family members in June.  Criminologists have isolated many of the common traits these men share, including the fact they are often educated, successful and family oriented, but have suffered some recent financial or relationship difficulty. Another full day of testimony continued on Tuesday in the Lindsay Clancy trial, but it began with a debate between the defense and prosecution over a potential defense witness. Clancy’s attorney wants to call a social worker to the stand who posted on TikTok about the hospital Lindsay admitted herself to in the weeks leading up to killing her three children. As news of Trump sneaking off Air Force One continues to make headlines, people are questioning the decision to leave unsuspecting journalists and White House staff members on a plane that had a credible enough threat to remove the President from it.  Air Force One essentially became a decoy aircraft to hide Trump’s actual ride, a nearby military jet.  Reaction online has been swift and harsh, many calling the President a coward, shameful and weak for hiding in a catering truck while Americans were potentially put in harms way.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Former Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse has not publicly acknowledged nor apologized for resurfaced social media posts showing her repeatedly using the n-word over the course of several years. We are just learning about a secret operation that took place in front of the world: President Trump boarded Air Force One in Turkey last month, but immediately sneaked out the side entrance and onto a catering truck. That truck promptly whisked him away to a military jet, leaving the press corps and members of his staff thinking they were flying back with the President, unaware he was on an entirely different plane. This was all arranged amid Iranian threats to the President’s life, and given Turkey’s proximity to Iran, it was deemed the safest way back. It was a jaw dropping cross examination that lasted for most the day on Tuesday. Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney revealed the main psychiatrist treating Lindsay Clancy had only been practicing for one month while claiming to be an expert in postpartum issues. Dr. Jennifer Tufts had to admit that she completed most of her residency during COVID, and that she never once saw Clancy in person until that very day in the courtroom; all of their sessions were via zoom. It’s been exactly one week since 29-year-old mom of 4, Tasia Fortune, was found hanging from a tree in the back of an abandoned home in Jackson, Mississippi. The medical examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy, but as of this recording, police have not said whether they suspect foul play or suicide. Of note, a Jackson City Council member has asked the U.S. Attorney’s office for help investigating, as Fortune’s family is demanding answers and justice. Over the past decade in Mississippi, there have been 3 other tree hanging deaths of black men, all of them ruled suicides over the objections of their families. The trial of former gang leader, 63-year-old Duane Keith Davis begins today, three decades after the 1996 shooting death of rap icon Tupac Shakur. Davis isn’t accused of being the triggerman that night on the Vegas strip, but he’s accused of supplying the gun and orchestrating the killing. Davis has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder, but it was Davis’ own 2019 memoir and his public comments afterwards which detailed his role in the killing that landed him behind bars and on trial for his life. As we continue to follow the testimony in the “Killer Mom Trial” in Massachusetts,  it’s hard to understand how posts on TikTok alleging a wild conspiracy theory are getting so much traction.  Tiktokers are claiming Lindsay Clancy’s husband, Patrick, is the person responsible for the strangling deaths of his three young children and that HE pushed her out of the window, rather than her jumping out of the window to end her own life.  With the defense clearly acknowledging that Lindsay murdered her children, saying she’s not guilty by reason of insanity, we discuss HOW so many people could come to this bizarre conclusion. The family of Perez Hilton has updated fans on his condition, saying he’s in serious, but stable condition and will require surgery in the coming days. Hilton’s family acknowledged he is hospitalized under the Baker Act, which allows someone to be committed to a mental health treatment center for up to 72 hours. The family is also asking the media to leave the family’s home, to stop following and taking pictures of Hilton’s children and to give the family space and privacy. The internet has gone wild with speculation after Usher’s concert Saturday night at Met Life Stadium.  Videos and photos are circulating showing what some fans are saying is a clone, or a look a like, on stage instead of Usher,  singing “Love In This Club”. A true crime story right out of a horror movie: a 15-year-old dressed in a clown suit, charged with first degree murder for randomly stabbing a 78-year-old man to death in East St. Louis, Illinois.  Just hours earlier, several ring cameras captured the teen dressed as a clown going door to door with a large knife, saying “I’ve been looking for you” and “I have a gift for you.” Prosecutors plan to charge the teen as an adult, as the victim’s family remembers a man who was a wonderful brother, a navy vet and bus driver, who was in the area to visit his sister. The woman who spent 4 years in an Italian prison before her murder conviction was overturned, is now about to star in a one woman comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Amanda Knox describes “Cartwheel” as a show about “juggling motherhood and finally getting around to being furious about the whole wrongful-imprisonment thing.”  Friends and family of murder victim and former roommate of Knox, Meredith Kercher, say the comedy show trivializes violence against women and mocks the horrific events surrounding Kercher’s murder. There is a growing number of lawmakers asking Ohio Republican Congressman Max Miller to drop his re-election campaign amid multiple domestic violence accusations. Add to that, a series of disturbing texts and exchanges over a blue bunny Miller allegedly held hostage from his daughter, along with Miller’s former father-in-law telling reporters he’s sent his wife, daughter and granddaughter to a secure location “until such time as they feel safe.” Republicans have until August 10th to replace Miller on the ticket, but Miller is vowing to stay in the race, denying all of the mounting allegations against him.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The prosecution called a total of 10 witnesses to the stand on Thursday, but the day began with an emotional gut punch as the state medical examiner went over the autopsy of 8 month old Callan.  Jurors had to view the autopsy photo which prompted tears and tissues among the jury and audible sobbing from Lindsay Clancy. The prosecution then had a series of witnesses take the stand from the family pediatrician, daycare workers, and friends of the couple testify that Lindsay was tired, but a good and loving mom. Lindsay’s ex father-in-law and grandfather to the children testified that the Clancy’s were an “all American family” and he never was concerned that Lindsay could harm herself or the kids. Florida officials are investigating whether there are other victims out there, after they charged a local pastor with dozens of charges they say he confessed to committing. 42-year-old Timothy Chaneyfield was the pastor of a local baptist church and also worked in the Polk County School system with access to kids for more than a decade.  Chaneyfield is HIV positive and has been accused of infecting at least one man and exposing a 14-year-old boy after multiple sexual encounters. A stunning announcement just three weeks before state contestants compete in the 75th annual Miss USA Pageant at the end of the month: Miss North Carolina USA has been stripped of her crown over former social media posts where she’s alleged to have used the “n-word”. It’s been exactly one year since 33-year-old fashion designer Martha Nolan was found dead on a yacht in Montauk and there is still no official cause of death and no formal persons of interest named.  Nolan’s family believes they know who is responsible for her death, and are planing to file a lawsuit with the details of their independent autopsy on Nolan’s body and the independent investigation into the man who was with her at the time of her death. Nolan’s family is filing a $50 million dollar civil lawsuit against Christopher Durnan, who was seen running naked on the docks throwing items at other boats to get help. There are a number of unanswered questions about that night: why was he naked, why didn’t he call 9-1-1 and why is there an extended period of time between when he claims Martha went limp and when he tried to get help. The prosecution called five witnesses to the stand, including several more medical and scientific experts, one of whom evoked a fiery exchange between Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney and prosecutors. The star witness of the day was the Clancy family’s former nanny who was with Lindsay and her children in the months leading up to the murders. Elaine Rossi testified that she was aware Lindsay was struggling with postpartum, but was deeply involved in caring for her children and was a wonderful mom. A shocking and disturbing video is still making the rounds on X as of this recording, showing the murder of 25-year-old César Gastélum while he was live-streaming a comedic sketch in Mexico. The murder was a brazen attack, with two men casually pulling up on a motorcycle next to Gastelum and his friends, in front of a KFC just blocks away from the prosecutor’s office at 8 pm in the evening. As Mexican authorities hunt down his killers, it’s just the latest in a series of similar deaths, with at least 12 other influencers murdered in the same area over the past year and a half. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s office responded to a disturbing scene on Tuesday after receiving multiple calls from concerned fans who were watching a bloody livestream involving celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. It appeared Hilton was cutting himself live, on his TikTok feed, and was covered in blood, as people watching were begging him to stop. The video has been taken down, but is still circulating online, as Hilton recovers in the hospital. While his reps have said publicly they haven’t been able to reach him, there are so many questions as to how and why things took such a violent turn. Sadly, self harm videos have been plaguing social media sites in recent years, and are considered by mental health professionals as a potential gateway to more serious outcomes, including death. Republican congressman Chuck Edwards looks like he’s one and done, after serving his first term in Congress, Edwards announced he is dropping his bid for reelection after an ethics investigation. The findings of the house ethics reports show that Edwards “engaged in persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct towards two young female staffers.” While the 65-year-old husband, father and grandfather dropped his bid, another republican congressman, Max Miller has vowed to continue his re-election campaign after multiple women have come forward with domestic violence allegations.   Miller even asking the ethics committee to open a full investigation into his conduct to try and clear his name.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The prosecution had more doctors, forensic experts and state troopers take the stand on Day 6 of testimony in the triple murder trial of 35-year-old Massachusetts mom, Lindsay Clancy. After agreeing to stipulate to certain facts in the hopes of speeding up the trial and avoiding dozens of witnesses, the defense got testy at one point, questioning why three toxicologists needed to testify about blood evidence after the agreement. Never saw this story coming, but there are additional “clothing checks” happening at the Women’s Tour de France this week. After complaints that some women may be using extra padding in their sports bras for an aerodynamic advantage, race organizers confirmed the new inspections. Who knew, but using padded bras, aka “chest fairing," aka “bra doping," can give riders a few seconds of advantage and is prohibited by the International Cycling Union. A breaking development out of the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial this morning: we heard directly from Lindsay Clancy who confirmed to the judge she was agreeing to much of the physical evidence the prosecution would be presenting in the case. It’s a highly unusual move in a murder case, but because Clancy already admits to strangling her three young children, this avoids unnecessary days of testimony proving chain of custody from witnesses who handled the blood samples and other DNA evidence linking Clancy to the killings. We are now learning about the country's first recorded deaths linked to the growing cyclospora outbreak. Both occurred in Michigan, and officials say both victims had significant underlying health conditions that were impacted by the parasite and dehydration.  Still, with confusing numbers that may be as high as 22 thousand, and Michigan alone reporting more than 11 thousand cases, there is growing concern about how to keep ourselves and our families safe. Grammy winning singer and Oscar nominated actress Ariana Grande should be enjoying her multiple recent successes: from the “Wicked” movies to her world tour, to her newly released studio album and what was going to be a starring role on the West End in London. Instead, the 33-year-old released a statement that she will no longer be gracing that London stage and instead will be taking a step back from the public eye after some celebrities and fans have shared concerns about her thin weight.   Grande has explained and defended her health for years now, pointing out that the comfortability people have in commenting on her looks is what is dangerous, not her weight. Republican U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno from Ohio is calling out fellow Republican congressman, Max Miller, who used to be married to his daughter, for physically abusing and threatening her. Senator Moreno has been silent up until now, after his daughter accused Miller of throwing boiling water on her, saying Congressman Miller has made it impossible to keep the matter private because of his “increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior.” Miller is running for re-election in a tight race in Ohio and has vehemently denied his ex-wife’s accusations. Things are getting heated and it will be fascinating to see how long or if U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro will keep her job after dropping charges against former Olympian David Hearn.  Pirro admitted in a public filing that “botched” work was to blame for the peeling lining in the Reflecting Pool, not vandals.  Trump’s reaction was swift and to the point, saying he “100% disagrees” with Pirro, acknowledging for the first time that there “may have been some contractor difficulty” but insisted the major damage was caused by vandalism.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Week 2 of the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial begins today after an emotional first week that ended with jurors taking a field trip to the crime scene, the home where Lindsay and Patrick Clancy were raising their three young children. Lindsay did not join the 18 jurors and lawyers who toured both the basement where Lindsay strangled her children and the yard where she jumped from her bedroom’s second story window. The jury returned to court and heard from 5 more witnesses who described the conditions of Lindsay and her children when they arrived at the hospital. News this week that two of Hollywood’s most famous actors both have children who dropped their last names: Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Suri Cruise has changed her name to her mother’s middle name, now going by Suri Noelle. Brad Pitt’s youngest daughter Vivenne has joined older sister and two other siblings in legally dropping Pitt from her name as well. We go over other celebrity kids who dropped their famous father’s last names for varying reasons and go over what the national statistics are for parental estrangement in this country, it’s higher than you might think. In a stunning reversal, the DOJ admitted on Friday evening that a rush complete the reflecting pool, and botched work is to blame for the peeling liner in the National Mall’s reflecting pool, NOT a three time U.S. Olympic canoeist. In fact, in its filing, the U.S. Attorney’s office claims it didn’t have all the information from the Department of the Interior before presenting a grand jury with evidence that the damage to the reflecting pool was caused by vandals. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos released two ransom notes from the person authorities believe kidnapped 83-year-old Nancy Guthrie six months ago. The sheriff released them hoping to keep interest alive in the story and hoping that someone may recognize the distinctive patterns of word choice and phraseology. Today marks exactly 6 months since Nancy Guthrie was last seen alive, after her son-in-law dropped her off at her Tucson home on January 31st.  This, as Sheriff Nanos revealed the hair sample found in Nancy’s home, turned up no identifiable leads. There is just one piece of forensic DNA left to test and Nanos acknowledged technology might not be in place to sort out the mixed DNA in the sample.  Meantime, the man arrested and detained for several hours during the early days of the investigation, is now suing Pima County along with two family members, demanding a total of $3.25 million dollars for their ordeal. It was an embarrassing display on the world stage, making the United States government look either dumb or indifferent… or both. A State Department visual display at the International AIDS Conference highlighting U.S. funding for HIV in several African countries, placed every single country listed in the wrong geographical location. Not a single country was in the right place on its map of Africa. There are some significant developments in the search for answers in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells. First, the medical examiner has completed Wells’ autopsy, but the results will not be released until a grand jury reviews the findings along with the rest of the evidence in the case. Second, an arrest has been made following death threats against a local judge whose son was on the boat with Nolan. The prosecution called 10 first responders to the stand in the triple murder trial of 35-year-old Lindsay Clancy, accused of strangling her three young children to death. One by one, they described the horrific scene they arrived to, complete with what they saw and heard from both Lindsay and the children’s father, Patrick. 55-year-old Collin Gray will spend the next 15 years behind bars, after a judge sentenced the father of 16-year-old Colt Gray for the 2024 school shooting that left 4 dead and 9 others wounded.  Collin Gray gifted the assault rifle to his mentally unstable son who had shown an affinity towards school shooters in the months leading up to the mass shooting. Both father and son were sentenced on the same week, Colt getting life in prison without the possibility of parole, while Collin will be eligible for parole when he’s 70 years old. An Arizona District Attorney has announced that parents Angelo and Alexus Fiordilino will not be charged in the near fatal drowning of their 18 month old son.  The toddler was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the hospital when his parents found him in the family’s swimming pool, unresponsive.  Five hours later a worker for the medical examiner discovered the child was still alive, but police recommended the parents be charged  with child abuse.  Prosecutors explained why they chose not charge the parents after a full investigation.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The first woman ever elected as mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota is now being investigated for sexual harassment after the Police Chief filed a formal complaint of her “illegal conduct” towards city employees. 53-year-old Kaohly Her, who served in the State House and began her term in January, is accused of sending a bizarre text saying “Happy Weiner Wednesday” with a hot dog emoji, referencing getting a “good weinering.” Chief Axel Henry also claims the Mayor’s conduct extends beyond isolated incidents and includes sexual harassment of city employees and members of the Saint Paul Police Department. The ex-husband of Lindsay Clancy finished an emotional 2 days on the stand where he recounted finding Lindsay badly injured after a suicide attempt and then, while on a 9-1-1 call, found his three young children strangled to death. The jury saw the exercise bands Lindsay Clancy used to kill her children and then heard the disturbing, 7 minute 9-1-1 call from Patrick Clancy. It was so emotional, the judge had to speak to jurors and then called for a brief recess. When Patrick was cross examined by the defense, despite the horror of finding his children, he told jurors that Lindsay was a good and loving mom even as she mentally deteriorated, suffering from postpartum illness. A total of 10 women are publicly accusing actor Jared Leto of sexual misconduct when they were teenagers. The BBC has a new documentary out today called Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret where the women describe several disturbing incidents, including one who claims he had sex with her in California when she was just 17, which is below the age of consent. It’s been a shocking and disturbing Senate committee hearing on Capitol Hill today with Senator and fellow Doctor Rand Paul leading the charge against Dr. Anthony Fauci. Before testifying, Fauci acknowledged what he called Paul’s “unhinged obsession“ with him and said because of Paul’s repeated public pledges to put Fauci behind bars, he had to invoke the Fifth Amendment. As Senators hurled insults and accusations at Fauci, at one point, Paul threw Fauci’s attorney out of the hearing, repeatedly telling him to stop talking. While Fauci received a preemptive pardon from outgoing President Biden, he could still be held liable for anything he testified to during today’s hearing. This is a cautionary tale for everyone who stays in rental homes on vacation (like us)… we actually recorded this episode from an Airbnb!  Former two time Jeopardy champion, 44-year-old Joey DeSana pleaded guilty this week to two counts of felony secret peeping after a woman staying in his North Carolina rental home found secret cameras in her bedroom and bathroom. The married father of two apologized for his crime, that court documents say he committed for the purpose of “arousing and gratifying the sexual desire of a person, secretly and surreptitiously.” We go over the rules of indoor cameras in rental properties, how you can search for hidden cameras, and what to do if you find one during your stay. It was an extraordinary day on Florida’s death row, two inmates executed in one day, and one of them was 80-years-old. A massive debate is underway on whether or not our country should be executing elderly inmates. Florida has set three separate records this summer, executing the oldest inmates in that state’s history. The Supreme Court set an age limit on how young a criminal can be before facing a death sentence, should a similar limit be in place for older inmates, allowing them to essentially age out of the death penalty? It’s is a historic day on Florida’s death row with a rare double execution. The state is executing two inmates in one day for the first time in more than 60 years. After a brief delay, Florida executed 68-year-old James Duckett at 1:19pm ET and just a few hours later is set to execute the oldest man in state history, 80-year-old Dominick Occhicone. The man who pleaded guilty last summer of the brutal campus killings of four Idaho college students, now claims he was coerced into pleading guilty for the crimes. Bryan Kohberger, who is currently serving four life sentences, filed a handwritten petition to the court on Monday asking for a trial, after he claims he was forced by his attorneys into making a false plea to avoid death row. It’s unclear if a court will consider Kohberger’s request, given in his plea deal, where he waived all rights to appeal “any and all issues” in the case. Investigators are trying to piece together what happened in a Michigan home that led to 47-year-old Kris Karolkiewicz shooting and killing his six children, his wife and then himself after setting the family home on fire. We know Kris recently lost his job as a Vice President with the American Heart Association, but it’s still unclear if that played a role in the unthinkable tragedy. Investigators say they found his licensed firearm near his body, and the rest of the family members shot to death in their bedrooms. A judge ruled the prosecution brought forward enough evidence to bring the singer to trial, but several, shocking text messages from 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez to D4vd, paint a much different picture about their relationship.
