Alabama Governor Kay Ivey made the rare decision to commute the death sentence of a 53-year-old man convicted in the 1995 killing of a sheriff’s deputy. Ivey said there was “not enough direct evidence to carry out the most serious punishment.” The current district attorney has taken it a step further, publicly voicing concerns about prosecutorial misconduct, asking the courts to overturn Toforest Johnson’s conviction and grant him a new trial. The President has been on another bizarre bragging tour over the results of three cognitive tests that are used for early detection of dementia. The point is, this is NOT a test that measures intelligence whatsoever. Instead, it measures for mild cognitive impairment, which only means he isn’t suffering from dementia. Why is our president so obsessed with changing names? His latest target is the state of New Mexico: Trump writing on his social media that a name change would increase home values and incomes, but made sure to insult the state by saying it’s known for its “crooked elections.” Of note, Trump lost New Mexico in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections. 77-year-old William Reaves will die by lethal injection tonight after being convicted of first-degree murder for the 1986 shooting of Deputy Richard Raczkowski. He will become Florida’s eighth prisoner over the age of 70 to be executed this year, but more than 100 military veterans sent a moving letter to Governor DeSantis on Monday, urging him to commute Reaves’ sentence to life given his PTSD from the battlefield. Meantime, Officer Raczkowski’s family and former coworkers say they’ve waited long enough for justice and plan to be at tonight’s execution. After a four month investigation, Mississippi’s Attorney General announced that a white officer was justified when he shot at a moving vehicle, killing a 1-year-old black boy and critically injuring the driver. Little Kohen Wiley’s mom and her friend were accused of shoplifting a box of diapers from Walmart, when 5 officers surrounded their vehicle as they were leaving the parking lot. Both women deny stealing anything and have never been charged. The officer who fired the shots, 33-year-old Hunter Foster, has had two accusations of using racial expletives towards his black co-workers and the police chief who chose not to discipline him, was just fired last month for using racial expletives in texts with colleagues. A New York Times investigation has revealed recently unsealed court documents that say O.J. Simpson may have had an accomplice who helped him dispose of the murder weapon in the killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. While Simpson was acquitted of the murders, according to the alleged accomplice’s brother, mobster Joey Ippolito was willing to testify about his role in the cover-up in exchange for lessened prison time for charges he was facing.  The details surrounding this new information are shocking, even to Simpson prosecutors, who are claiming they knew nothing about this at the time. A shocking story out of Wichita, Kansas:  A 34-year-old mom with two of her kids in the backseat, drove through a soccer field killing a 6-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man. Five kids between the ages of 5 and 9 were also injured, along with 5 other adults. While the woman is said to be cooperating with police, there is outrage growing that she’s been released without being charged as the investigation continues. Even though the Honolulu Medical Examiner has determined that Southwest Airlines attendant Jenny Lupton died by suicide after falling from her 24th floor balcony, the homicide division of the Honolulu police department continues to investigate her death.  Lupton’s family has plenty of reasons to believe the 50-year-old mom would never take her own life, including her final text moments before her death to a friend: “What are we doing tomorrow?” Lupton’s family maintains the medical examiner acknowledged he’s open to changing his suicide finding if police present evidence supporting foul play. It was not the interview most people were expecting to see on Fox News: Sean Hannity asking tough questions, complete with follow ups for 41-year old Katie Zacharia. More than four years after a barrel containing human remains was found at Lake Mead, investigators have identified the victim as Edward “Buddy” Jackson. Police say Jackson was shot once in the head and was believed to be in his mid to late 50s at the time of his murder. Jackson was last seen visiting family in Arkansas in the 1980s and has no known ties to the Vegas area. A 16-year-old Bend, Oregon resident shot through locked doors at an Oregon elementary school, and then shot and killed three children, ages 5, 8, and 11 along with a teacher. Remarkably, an armed community member saw the teen enter Silver Rail Elementary School with a long rifle and pursued him inside the school and shot him dead before police arrived. Another teacher and a 7-year-old student were critically injured and are currently in the hospital. Police say the heroic bystander saved countless lives, and credit him, along with a new classroom door lock system from keeping dozens of children and teachers safe. Congratulations to two-time Oscar winning actress, Hillary Swank, who at the age of 52, has announced she is pregnant with her third child. Swank first became pregnant at 47, giving birth to twins in 2023 and now baby number three is on the way. Orlando police have arrested and charged 55-year-old Dale Smith Jr with second degree murder, 15 years after his ex-fiancé Michelle Parker disappeared. Parker was last seen on November 17th, 2011, the very day the couple was featured on ‘The People’s Court,' arguing over a $5,000 engagement ring. Parker dropped off their then three-year-old twins at Smith’s home, and has never been seen again; her body has never been found. While Smith maintains his innocence, police say advances in digital forensics led to additional evidence, paving the way for the arrest they’ve wanted to make for more than a decade. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia took the California bar exam after graduating from Pepperdine Law School, but did not pass. Instead, she said she assumed she was asked where she went after graduating law school…. A left leaning non-profit, The Campaign for Accountability, has officially filed a complaint with the California State Bar Association, asking for an investigation into White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia’s claims that she is a lawyer. To date, there is no evidence that Zacharia is licensed to practice law in any state, yet Zacharia has repeatedly stated in more than a dozen TV appearances that she is a lawyer. The Brooklyn store targeted by Kelly Clarkson’s social media posts - describing a rude and offensive employee who refused to sell her an automaton bird - says the backlash is getting scary. A disturbing story out of the Pocono Mountains; police say a 27-year-old woman stabbed her 3-year-old son and her husband to death while they were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains. Metallica Harrison has been charged with two counts of murder after she called 9-1-1 to tell the dispatcher she “needed help dying” and that her husband and son were “already gone.” The family had been on an extended vacation at the resort and while police have no known motive in this case, what Harrison said after they arrived, sounded eerliy similar to the Lindsay Clancy case. Trump’s new press secretary, 41-year-old Katie Zacharia is becoming her own headline after making her debut today in her first press conference. Zacharia looked and sounded nervous in her first outing infront of the White House Press Corps, reading from her notes and only calling on three reporters, all from conservative networks. She shockingly only held a 13 minute press briefing, which left news outlets without the ability to ask any questions and the resulting headlines are now questioning just how long Zacharia will last in the position. Shortly after Trump’s new press secretary made news by revealing the President asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign her position as U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Guilfoyle kinda sorta made a resignation announcement on X. This is the first time Governor Ron DeSantis has ever canceled a planned execution in his nearly 8 years in office. While DeSantis did not officially give a reason for the stay of William Lee Thompson’s execution, an anti death penalty group describes Thompson as “gravely ill, has dementia” and requires complete assistance for basic activities. Thompson has spent nearly 5 years on death row for the heinous and brutal beating death of 23-year-old Sally Iverson, but according to reports, the 74-year-old lacks the mental capacity to understand his situation and the reason why he’s on death row. At Noon today, Florida is set to execute a man who killed his cellmate while he was sleeping to upgrade his prison accommodations. 63-year-old James “Chickenhead” Robertson bragged on a Netflix documentary that he planned and premeditated the murder of his cellmate, Frank Hart, so he could be moved to death row. Robertson pleaded guilty to first degree murder, waived his right to appeal, and asked for the death penalty back in 2008, and today Florida is carrying out his requested punishment. 54-year-old actress Selma Blair is facing state charges and a federal investigation after an alleged violent outburst on a Delta flight from LA to New York late Sunday. Blair is accused of trying to open the cabin door mid-flight, and then punching one flight attendant and biting another before she was eventually restrained. Once she was taken off the plane by Port Authority police, the actress is accused of repeatedly kicking the officer in the face and then assaulting a nurse.  Blair’s reps says she experienced a medical emergency and is receiving medical attention. 56-year-old Curtis Flowers has died just a few years after being released from death row and exonerated by the state of Mississippi. After Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the public would be able to watch a firing squad execute Fort Hood mass killer Nidal Hasan, the Pentagon got specific, saying the execution would be live-streamed. Hassan’s planned, public execution is scheduled for December 3rd at 1pm, on the same day of the week and the same time Hasan killed 13 and wounded 30 others back in 2009.  Hasan was wounded in the attack and is paralyzed, and there are many questions about the legality and morality of a public execution. After an hours long manhunt, 22-year-old Ryan Hanafin is in custody and believed to be responsible for shooting and killing his own mother. Hanafin was arrested after his father found his wife, 49-year-old Andria in the kitchen, dead. Their 13-year-old son was unharmed  inside the home, and their older daughter was away at college, but Ryan was missing along with his vehicle. A popular fitness influencer with over half a million followers, posted a triumphant photo with her medal and finishing time at the Berlin Marathon.  30-year-old Sun Yuanyuan, who goes by the name Abeeeer, even boasted that she finished under 5 hours: her personal best. Over the past year, Michigan police say the violent deaths of five white men along a popular river trail appear to be connected. Lansing’s police chief acknowledged that the city may have a serial killer on its hands and have asked for help from the community, setting up a tip line. Four of the victims were brutally beaten in the head, suffering facial injuries, all eventually dying from their injuries in the hospital. In a press conference following an emergency hearing called by the attorneys of Christa Pike, we learned more details about how and when Pike regained consciousness. The U.S. State Department and the CDC say they are both closely monitoring a situation in Siberia, after the suspicious death of a 28-year-old Russian lab researcher who was studying the pneumonic plague. She officially died of pneumonia of an “unknown” origin, but testing is underway with 200 of her colleagues under medical observations with at least 5 facilities under quarantine. The pneumonic plague is a rare and deadly lung infection that is passed from human to human and is considered the most dangerous form of the disease. President Trump was defending the war with Iran and the resulting higher gas and energy prices with a poorly worded comment that seemed to suggest he’d be fine with Iran taking out Los Angeles and San Diego. Trump was trying to say that the higher prices Americans are paying are a small price to pay, rather than having Iran take out an American city. It was a heartbreaking and dramatic afternoon in court as Caleb Flynn heard directly from his two young daughters who wrote letters to him read aloud by his wife, Ashley’s family members. Alyssa and Ava Flynn told their father how much pain he’s caused them and begged him to tell the truth about killing their mother. Other members of Ashely’s family spoke directly to Flynn, including her own parents who told their former son-in-law that they forgive him. The headlines are brutal for Tom Cruise’s new movie ‘Digger’ with major news outlets saying the film is set to lose $150 million dollars after opening to a shocking $8 million dollar debut. The satirical black comedy actually received a decent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans giving it a 71%, but critics calling it everything from an “unintentionally bad movie” to “insufferably sanctimonious." 29-year-old Nathalie Belizaire was taken off a Carnival Cruise ship in handcuffs after police say she went on a 4 day cruise while leaving her 4 kids home, unsupervised. Belizaire has been charged with four counts of felony child abuse after the father of her infant called 9-1-1 after hearing kids’ voices and the tv on at her residence. When police burst through the front door, they found the four kids, including a 2 1/2 month old and a 2-year-old, hiding in the bathroom. Residents are demanding answers after a county in Florida discovered multiple Flock cameras that were not permitted, and have no known owner. It’s also unclear whether those cameras are actively collecting data or who can access it. Quick and brave actions by the captain of Flydubai flight 1073 and several of its passengers averted a deadly disaster, saving the lives of more than 170 people on board a flight headed from Dubai to Tel Aviv on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing, but the details of what happened mid-air are nothing short of remarkable. A co-pilot who has now been detained, reportedly began stabbing the captain in an attempt to crash the plane. While being attacked, the captain was able to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers to rush in, neutralize the co-pilot and stabilize the plane that had dropped more than 17 thousand feet in less than two minutes. 71-year-old Douglas Carter walked out of prison this week after spending 40 years on death row for a 1985 murder he says he never committed. Carter was finally freed after DNA from the crime scene excluded him as a suspect. Carter was finally granted a new trial last year after the Utah Supreme Court ruled the two witnesses who testified against him recanted their stories, revealing that police and a prosecutor gave them cash and gifts to point the finger at Carter. NBC news has sourced a remarkable story describing what life is like for the billionaire music mogul behind bars. Multiple inmates have described a life Sean “Diddy” Combs has curated in prison, spending thousands of dollars a month for men to make his bed, cook his food, clean his clothes and give him massages. They also have photos and videos showing Diddy on a phone - which is not permitted - and say Diddy has premium alcohol that he sometimes shares with a tight circle of inmates on the weekends.  Diddy’s reps have already responded to the allegations, but didn’t necessarily deny them. In a shocking development, a federal appeals court has stepped in and stopped the execution of 50-year-old Christa Pike. Pike would’ve been the first woman in more than 200 years executed by the state of Tennessee, and she had already lost her appeal to the Supreme Court. A bizarre and disturbing story out of the Bay Area: two, 76-year-old murder suspects are in custody, accused of murdering their son-in-law at a California sports complex and playground. Police say Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen each shot 40-year-old Jonathan McKinsey multiple times, witnesses directing police to the couple within minutes of the murder. McKinsey was the director of engineering for the games section of The New York Times and was in a contentious and complicated divorce and custody battle that included decades of domestic violence accusations and restraining orders. Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, has filed several motions for today’s hearing as we wait to hear whether prosecutors plan to retry Clancy for the strangling deaths of her three children.  Reddington will first ask the judge to find Clancy not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility.  The defense has also moved to dismiss the case on double jeopardy grounds, arguing the judge should not have declared a mistrial, but instead should have questioned the holdout juror or replaced him. “Primetime” came in a respectable number 4 over the weekend, and critics are singing its praises, earning an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the journalist the movie portrays, former NBC reporter Chris Hansen, is upset, saying the film is a “complete work of fiction.” Hansen goes on to say the movie is “detached from reality or anything I’ve ever experienced.” Hansen is played by actor Robert Pattinson and depicts his role working on “To Catch a Predator” back in 2006, when a potential target  of the show, a Texas prosecutor died by suicide rather than be confronted by the reality show and police. The attorney for the lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is defending his client, saying Michael Desronvil had zero doubt about his decision and has “a mountain of evidence” to back up his decision. The second full week of testimony is underway in the Caleb Flynn murder trial. The former American Idol alum is accused of murdering his wife of 15 years, Ashely Flynn. There are two new studies out that show younger people aren’t having as much sex and it’s a fairly significant shift from a decade ago. The Institute for Family Studies found that nearly 25 percent of adults ages 18 to 29 haven’t had sex in the past year. A recent Playboy study found the same results, and now experts are looking into why. St. Paul Police Chief Alex Henry has officially filed a lawsuit against 53-year-old Minnesota Mayor Kaohly Her for sexual harassment. Chief Henry had already filed a complaint against the mayor back in the Spring, but has now included new allegations in his formal lawsuit. Henry alleges that Mayor Her grabbed his upper thigh twice during a budget meeting, made references to the size of his penis and referred to herself as a “MILF”. Police say a 32-year-old man is in custody after brutally attacking a couple while they were sleeping, stabbing Dr. Idris Evans to death and critically injuring his wife. In the middle of the attack, Gina Evans was able to yell to their 8 and 12 year old kids to run to a neighbor’s house, saving them from being harmed. Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the murder, Evan’s wife telling police she heard her husband call out their attacker’s name, Elijah. Damn. For the second day in a row, the mistress of accused murderer Caleb Flynn was on the stand reading hundreds of texts between the two. But on Thursday, 24-year-old Alleigha Botner cracked as she was forced to read a damning text where she told Caleb she wanted to kill his wife Ashley, “so bad." However, later in the day a much different tone swept over the courtroom as prosecutors played an AI version of the song Caleb wrote for Alleigha. As two different versions of the song played aloud, the camera panned to Ashley’s family and many others who all seemed to be stifling laughter, as Caleb wiped sweat from his brow, clearly uncomfortable. Mississippi Police have arrested a second man in the death of a black woman found hanging from a tree, and have issued an arrest warrant for a third suspect. Jackson police arrested 25-year-old Earnest Lloyd Jr. in the death of 29-year-old Tasia Fortune, whose body was found hanging behind an abandoned home in the city on Aug. 3rd. Authorities say while the U.S. Marshalls are bringing in a third man, there are even more arrest warrants expected in this horrific case. 24-year-old Alleigha Botner is back on the stand today after three, dramatic hours on Wednesday afternoon. A federal judge has granted journalists a temporary restraining order forcing the White House to restore press credentials to CNN, MSNOW and Politico. 41-year-old Ker’Sean Ramey is scheduled to die this evening by lethal injection for a 2005 triple homicide. Ramey was convicted and sentenced to death for the murders of his neighbor, 38-year-old Celso Lopez, 18-year-old Tiffani Peacock and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Sam Roberts. His cohort, LeJames Norman was executed just last week for the same crime, which began as an armed robbery, and ended with both men shooting their victims multiple times. Tiffani Peacock’s sister is speaking out, saying the execution aren’t anything to celebrate, and hopes instead, that people will remember her sister for how she died, but instead for how she lived. It was a shocking day of testimony in the murder trial against former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn, accused of shooting his wife of 15 years in the head while she was sleeping so he could be with his mistress.  Ashley Flynn’s mother, father, sister and brother-in-law described Caleb as a trusted and loved member of the family who they vacationed with and worked alongside for years.  They each described feeling shock and disbelief after his arrest, Ashley’s sister even telling FBI agents they had the wrong guy, choosing to believe Caleb’s intruder theory. A disturbing family feud has erupted following the death of Dolly Parton. Parton’s longtime manager has now filed for a temporary restraining order against the late singer's nephew, Bryan Seaver, the man she chose to announce her death to the world just a few weeks ago. Seaver was fired from his decades-long held position as head of security after Parton’s manager claims Seaver began "invoking his self-proclaimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence" to extort money from the estate. ‘The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’ star Taylor Frankie Paul has announced on social media that she will not continue on the hit Hulu series because of bullying from her casemates. Paul accused some of the women of laughing at her children as she goes through two very public custody battles. The news comes as TMZ reports that Paul failed multiple recent court ordered drug tests as she tries to get more time with her children from two separate relationships. Trump began by telling CNN that they shouldn’t be covering him at the UN after banning the news organization’s access, and then told the world they shouldn’t be calling AI, “Artificial” Intelligence. The Greenville, South Carolina Coroner’s Office has just announced that Hayden Panettiere’s cause of death has been ruled as an accident from the toxic effects of multiple drugs. The office specified that fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine were all found in Panettiere, but added there were no signs of trauma that contributed to her death. This announcement doesn’t mean charges won’t be filed, as the DEA continues to investigate Panettiere’s death and who may have been responsible for supplying the deadly combination of drugs to her. Testimony is underway in the murder trial of former American Idol contestant Caleb Flynn.  40-year-old Flynn is accused of shooting his wife of 15 years while their two daughters were in the room next door, and then staging a burglary before calling 9-1-1. Jurors have already heard the 9-1-1 call, watched dramatic police body cam video as prosecutors read aloud several damning texts Flynn reportedly sent to his mistress describing hating and wanting to kill his wife. A Jackson, Mississippi grand jury returned a unanimous, “no true bill” in the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells. The jury determining there was not enough evidence to find anyone criminally responsible for the death of the black teen who was last seen partying with friends on an island off the Mississippi coast on the Fourth of July.   Instead, the grand jury found that Wells’ death was consistent with drowning, but his official cause of death remains undetermined. Charles Spencer is in the final hours of promoting his book about his late sister Princes Diana, and he continues to drop headline making comments. A Detroit family has accused a local funeral home of posing another body dressed in their late mother’s dress and wig during a family viewing, after accidentally cremating her before loved ones could say goodbye. The children of 61-year-old Kimberly Moore say a worker at Hutchinson Funeral Home told them the toe tag got wet and fell off and that’s how her body got mixed up with somebody else’s body. The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial has identified himself and is defending his decision. 48-year-old Michael P. Desronvil spoke through his attorney, saying he never had any doubts. 49-year-old Jeffery Lee is set to become Alabama’s second execution of the year at 6 pm ET.  Lee was scheduled to die back in June via nitrogen gas for the double murder of a pawn shop owner and his employee. Lee also shot and thought he killed a second employee who played dead, but was able to call 9-1-1 and identify Lee. Lee was only sentenced to death after a judge overruled a jury of his peers who voted 7 to 5 for life in prison. A 2017 law in Alabama no longer allows judges to overrule a jury’s ruling, but it’s not retroactive, and does nothing to spare Lee from dying by lethal injection this evening. Both Texas and Georgia have scheduled executions for this evening, but late Tuesday, a Georgia judge put a temporary stay on the execution of 53-year-old Stacey Humphries. The judge granting Humphries a hearing based on a new law that allows inmates convicted of capital offenses to be resentenced if they suffered severe childhood abuse. Georgia prosecutors have filed an expedited appeal and state officials say they are keeping the execution plan in place for now. In Texas, 40-year-old LeJames Norman will be put to death for his role in a horrific 2015 triple homicide. It had to be one of the strangest exchanges ever witnessed at a Senate Judiciary hearing. FBI Director Kash Patel began explaining recent changes to hiring practices when he was asked about lifting restrictions on applicants who engaged in prostitution and bestiality. Macklemore says New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft organized a boycott with several stadium owners over his “Free Palestine” statements. There’s a social media war going on right now between several female athletes and actress Sydney Sweeney. After Sweeney appeared in a new sports betting ad wearing next to nothing, several high profile women from varying sports have likened the ad to “a kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life” to sports. The chatroom says it operates under strict rules against any type of illicit behavior, but says it exists because there is no safe way for “minor-attracted people” to access support for fear of stigmatization. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are being heavily criticized after they were seen on television smiling and laughing as the names of victims were being read at Ground Zero. A new report from Anthropic is adding new concerns about the growing dangers of artificial intelligence, highlighting the real-life concerns after one if its lead researchers warned of AI’s potential to destroy all of mankind by the end of the decade. Anthropic says over the past eight months, it’s identified and disrupted dozens of potential plots to use its technology “for malicious activity.” That includes blocking scientists who have used its AI models to conduct research that could have developed biological weapons. Tonight at 6pm ET the state of Florida continues its record setting trend of executions, with the planned lethal injection of Daniel Conahan, Jr, also known as “The Hog Trail Killer.” Conahan will die for the 1996 murder of 21-year-old Richard Allen Montgomery, but he’s suspected in the murders of at least 12 other men in the area. Police say he lured young men with the promise of a couple hundred dollars, to pose nude in bondage photos.
