In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastors Carlos Erazo and Paul Cunningham tackle two fascinating and often misunderstood topics: how Christians should think about politics and the mysterious Nephilim in Genesis 6. Looking at Matthew 21, they unpack Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the powerful contrast between earthly political power and the kingdom Jesus came to establish. The conversation challenges two common errors Christians make today—treating politics as ultimate hope or ignoring it altogether—and explains how believers can engage culture while keeping their allegiance firmly rooted in Christ. The discussion then turns to the Nephilim, exploring the three historic interpretations of Genesis 6 and addressing common confusion surrounding the Book of Enoch and popular internet theories. Rather than getting lost in speculation, the hosts bring the focus back to the real message of the passage: humanity’s deep corruption and our desperate need for God’s redemption. In this episode, you’ll learn: What Jesus’ triumphal entry reveals about the true nature of His kingdom The two mistakes Christians make when thinking about politics How to discern when leaders misuse Scripture or Christian language The three historical views of the Nephilim in Genesis 6 What the Bible actually says about the Book of Enoch Why Genesis 6 ultimately points to humanity’s corruption and God’s judgment Stand firm. Is God bringing revival to Iran? And what does honoring the Sabbath actually look like for Christians today? In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Paul Cunningham tackle two powerful topics shaping faith and culture right now. First, they unpack Luke 6 and the biblical meaning of the Sabbath—why God built rhythms of work and rest into creation, how the Pharisees turned the Sabbath into legalistic religion, and why Jesus declaring Himself the “Lord of the Sabbath” changes how believers understand rest today. The conversation explores how Sabbath is not just about stopping work, but about restoring the body, renewing the soul, and remembering that our identity is rooted in Christ—not productivity. Then the episode shifts to an eye-opening conversation with Iranian-born pastor David Nasser about what’s really happening in Iran. Nasser shares his incredible story of escaping the Iranian Revolution, how his family encountered the gospel in America, and why many believe the underground church in Iran is one of the fastest-growing movements of Christianity in the world. The team discusses reports of Muslims encountering Jesus in dreams, the spiritual implications of current geopolitical events, and how the gospel continues advancing even in some of the most restricted places on earth. From honoring the Sabbath to the rise of the Iranian church, this episode explores how God is still moving powerfully across the world—and how believers today can join His mission. In this episode, you’ll learn: • What the Bible actually teaches about the Sabbath • Why Jesus called Himself the “Lord of the Sabbath” • The difference between legalistic religion and true spiritual rest • Why the church often grows fastest under persecution • What’s really happening with the underground church in Iran • How Christians can pray and participate in God’s global mission 💬 Comment for this week’s hat giveaway 🧢 Visit LiveFree.shop for merch 📲 Text APP to 20411 for the Lakepointe app
Can you really talk to God like He’s your Father? And what happens when He doesn’t answer your prayers? In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Paul Cunningham dive deep into what it really means that Jesus tore the veil. From the Lord’s Prayer and unanswered prayer to spiritual gifts like speaking in tongues, this conversation unpacks how access to the Father changes everything. But the team didn't stop there...they also tackled a pressing cultural question: If Jesus reigns as Lord, how should Christians think about rights, government, and public policy? Learn the difference between “freedom from” and “freedom to,” why language shapes belief, and how biblical wisdom helps us think beyond simplistic solutions. This episode is about alignment: aligning your prayer life and your worldview under the authority of Christ. In this episode, you'll learn: Why calling God “Father” was radically disruptive in the first century, and what it means for your prayer life today EIGHT specific biblical reasons God may not be answering your prayers Practical, step-by-step frameworks to deepen your daily prayer life What the Bible actually teaches about praying in tongues (without hype or denial) The difference between private, prophetic, and proof tongues in Scripture Why “Do not forbid speaking in tongues” and “Let all things be done in order” both matter How to connect your theology to public policy and cultural issues The difference between a biblical definition of rights and a progressive definition of rights 👉 Subscribe for weekly conversations on faith, culture, and biblical clarity 📱 Download the Lakepointe Church App: Text APP to 20411 🧢 Comment "Hat" for a chance to win a Live Free hat, or visit livefree.shop to order! 👕 FREE T-SHIRT WEEKEND! In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastor Josh Howerton and Jana Howerton dive into one of the most culturally controversial and biblically clear topics: God’s design for marriage. They unpack the theological foundation of headship and helpership from Genesis 2 and Ephesians 5, explaining why loving leadership and respectful support are not oppressive ideas, but protective ones. Rather than competing roles, Scripture presents marriage as a complementary covenant designed for strength, stability, and spiritual growth. The conversation moves into practical and often avoided topics including sexual integrity before and within marriage, emotional boundaries with the opposite sex, in-law dynamics, divorce and restoration, and how trust is rebuilt after betrayal. With clarity and conviction, they show how obedience to God’s Word—not cultural trends—leads to peace and flourishing in the home. In this episode, you’ll learn: What the Bible actually teaches about headship and submission Why “helper” is a position of strength, not weakness How words shape the health of your marriage The difference between loving leadership and passive abdication Why sexual boundaries protect covenant intimacy When divorce is biblically permitted — and when restoration is possible 💬 Comment HAT for this week’s giveaway 📲 Text MARRIAGE to 20411 for your next step 🧢 Visit LiveFree.shop for merch
In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Paul Cunningham tackle one of the most debated theological questions in Christianity: Does the Bible actually teach predestination? They walk through key Scriptures, clarify common misconceptions, and explain why God’s sovereignty and human responsibility are not enemies. Rather than dividing believers, a right understanding of this doctrine should strengthen confidence in evangelism and deepen trust in God’s character. The conversation then moves to Luke 15 and the heart of the Father in the parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and lost sons, unpacking the cultural background, exposing the danger of “older brother” religion, and offering practical tools for reaching the “one more” in your life through prayer, everyday conversations, and the B.L.E.S.S. method. The episode closes with cultural analysis around the Bad Bunny Super Bowl controversy, showing how Christians can stand firm in truth while still reflecting God’s compassion for lost people made in His image. In this episode, you’ll learn: What the Bible really teaches about predestination Why sovereignty and evangelism are not enemies The powerful context behind Luke 15’s parables How to know if you’re drifting into “older brother” syndrome A practical framework for helping someone take one step closer to Jesus How to respond to culture with clarity and compassion 💬 Comment HAT for this week’s giveaway 🧢 Visit LiveFree.shop for merch 📲 Text APP to 20411 for the Lakepointe app
Did Jesus stay silent on abortion and homosexuality, or are progressive politicians twisting Scripture to fit a modern agenda? In this LIVE FREE reaction video, Pastor Josh Howerton responds directly to James Talarico’s viral claims on Joe Rogan that Jesus “never talked about” homosexuality or abortion and that Christians have made these issues central for political reasons. Walking carefully through Scripture, this episode dismantles the argument from silence, explains why Jesus’ affirmation of Genesis defines marriage clearly, and shows how the New Testament directly addresses sexual ethics and the sanctity of life. If you’ve heard these talking points online and felt confused, this is the biblical clarity you’ve been looking for. You’ll learn: Why “Jesus never said it” is a weak theological argument How Matthew 19 defines marriage and excludes modern redefinitions Why Romans 1 and 1 Corinthians 6 directly address homosexuality Whether abortion is truly absent from biblical teaching How cultural pressure reshapes theology and how to resist it Why the real issue is the authority of Scripture and the Lordship of Christ This isn’t about politics. Are Jewish people who don’t believe in Jesus still saved, and what does the Bible really say about Israel, stewardship, and the end times? In this episode of LIVE FREE, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, and Paul Cunningham tackle one of the most misunderstood theological questions in Christianity today. Walking through Luke 19 and Romans 9–11, the conversation addresses salvation, ethnicity, faith, and God’s ongoing plan for Israel, cutting through sentimentality, political pressure, and internet half-truths with clear biblical reasoning. The episode also breaks down Jesus’ teaching on stewardship, rewards, money, and faithfulness. In the second half, we’re joined by Allie Beth Stuckey, host of Relatable, to discuss why Hillary Clinton recently published a hit piece targeting her, and what it reveals about power, truth, and cultural intimidation when Christian convictions refuse to bend. You’ll learn: Whether ethnicity or sincerity can save anyone. How Romans 11 explains God’s plan for Israel and the coming revival before Christ’s return Why the destruction of the Temple in AD 70 confirms Jesus’ authority and prophecy What Luke 19 teaches about stewardship, faithfulness, and eternal rewards Whether tithing is biblical and the deeper principle behind giving God the “first” Why faithfulness matters more than fame, applause, or platform 👉 Subscribe for weekly conversations on faith, culture, and biblical truth 🎁 Comment Whataburger or In-and-Out on YouTube and Spotify for this week’s LIVE FREE giveaway 📱 Download the Lakepointe Church App: Text APP to 20411 Stand firm. Does the Bible shape how you feel about culture, or how you see culture? In this LIVE FREE special reaction episode, Pastor Josh reacts to the GRAMMYs, Billie Eilish’s “No one is illegal on stolen land” moment and Jelly Roll’s bold, Jesus-centered acceptance speech, and uses Scripture to show the difference between using the Bible as a mirror and as a lens (James 1) for evaluating what’s happening in the world. You’ll also hear a clear contrast between performative courage that wins applause and real courage that risks something, plus why Romans 1 explains a culture that celebrates lawlessness while calling biblical conviction “hate.” You’ll learn: The two ways Christians must use the Bible: mirror vs lens (James 1) Why “stolen land” talking points collapse under basic history and logic How selective outrage gets weaponized to advance an agenda Why “you don’t live in a fascist dictatorship” if dissent gets standing ovations Romans 1’s warning: a society that approves what God condemns What Jelly Roll’s testimony reveals about the power of Scripture, repentance, and public witness The difference between conservative Christians vs Christian conservatives 💻 Join Live Free Nation: If these bonus reaction episodes are helpful, drop a comment on YouTube: your feedback tells us whether to keep doing them. Are Christians being manipulated by propaganda, and do most believers even realize it? In this episode, Pastors Josh Howerton, Carlos Erazo, Paul Cunningham confront the rise of viral propaganda, emotional manipulation, and misinformation surrounding ICE and cultural outrage, calling Christians to think biblically rather than react emotionally; from there, the conversation moves to Mark 10, where Jesus radically redefines greatness, power, and authority through service and sacrifice, before closing with a clear, no-spin theological examination of Mormonism, addressing whether it aligns with biblical Christianity and why Scripture repeatedly warns against “another Jesus” and “another gospel.” You’ll learn: How propaganda and emotional manipulation shape public perception Why Proverbs 18:17 is critical in a viral-media culture What Jesus actually teaches about greatness and authority in Mark 10 The biblical definition of servant leadership Why Mormonism differs fundamentally from Christianity How to test spiritual claims, angelic revelations, and new scripture biblically 👉 Subscribe for weekly conversations on faith, culture, and biblical truth 👉 Comment “HAT” to enter this week’s Live Free giveaway 👉 Download the Lakepointe Church App: Text APP to 20411 Stand firm. Are Christians forbidden from engaging in politics, or is Scripture being selectively weaponized to keep believers silent? In this LIVE FREE special reaction episode, Pastor Josh responds to Rhett & Link’s viral commentary on Christianity and politics, breaking down the biblical errors, cultural assumptions, and spiritual forces underneath the argument that Christians should “stay out of power.” This episode draws a clear line between faithful doubt vs. deliberate deception, and explains why political passivity is not a virtue, but a strategy the Bible warns us about. You’ll learn: - Why Jesus rejecting Satan’s offer was not a rejection of political authority, but of acquiring it the wrong way - The difference between refugees from doubt and apostles of unbelief (Jude 22–23) - Why “My kingdom is not of this world” is commonly misunderstood, and what Jesus actually meant - How secularism turns politics into a substitute religion (and why the state becomes god) - Why voting is not a sacrament, but a moral decision between available options - What it means to be the salt of the earth and how Christians are called to slow decay, not retreat - Why culture didn’t become political, the government became theological - How Scripture views power, dominion, and Christ as King of Kings over every sphere 👇 DROP A COMMENT: Do you want more reaction/test-drive episodes like this? 🎁 GIVEAWAY: Comment on YouTube for a chance to win a LIVE FREE hat. 👍 Like, Comment, & Subscribe for unapologetically biblical clarity 🔔 Turn on notifications so you don’t miss future episodes

Does the Bible really stay silent on abortion and “consensual” same-sex relationships, or are we watching Scripture get twisted in real time? In this LIVE FREE special reaction episode, Pastor Josh reacts to Texas State Rep. James Talarico and breaks down the viral claims, the word-games behind them, and what the Bible actually says about life in the womb, sexual ethics, justice, and the role of government vs. the Church. You’ll also hear Josh’s framework for engaging people who are sincerely confused vs. those intentionally deceiving believers—and why Christians can’t afford to be naive right now. You’ll learn: - Why “Jesus never talked about it” is a weak argument (and what Jesus did affirm) - The Bible’s case for life in the womb (Psalm 139, Exodus 21, John the Baptist’s response to Jesus) - Why Romans 1 directly contradicts the “only abusive relationships” loophole - The difference between Christian conservatives and conservative Christians - Why “feeding the hungry” doesn’t automatically equal “government redistribution” - The biblical definition of justice (equal weights and measures) vs. progressive “justice” (equal outcomes for groups) - What Galatians 3 (“neither male nor female”) actually means—and what it doesn’t - Why these “pastor-politician” clips go viral (and what Scripture warns us about) 👇 DROP A COMMENT: Do you want more reaction/test-drive episodes like this? 🎁 GIVEAWAY: Comment on YouTube for a chance to win a LIVE FREE hat. 👍 Like, Comment, & Subscribe for more unapologetically biblical clarity. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you don’t miss the next episode. #LiveFreePodcast #Christianity #Bible #Apologetics #Culture #Politics #Scripture #Theology #ChristianLiving

Was Jesus really an illegal immigrant, or is that a modern political slogan forced onto the Christmas story? Have you ever thought about how pride can quietly ruin our lives and relationships? In the first episode of the Live Free with Josh Howerton Podcast, we dive into the effects of pride and humility, kicking off the Kingslayers sermon series. We start by reflecting on the powerful moments from a recent Night of Prayer and Worship at Lakepointe Church, where we saw God move in amazing ways. This sets the tone for our discussion, where we look at Nebuchadnezzar's story in Daniel 4 and how pride brought him down. We talk about how pride is the ultimate "Kingslayer" and how it’s just as dangerous for us today. Along the way, we discuss how pride plays a role in marriage, entitlement, and even anxiety. We explore how these issues can stem from a sense of self-importance and how humility can transform our relationships and mental well-being. Throughout the episode, we offer practical ways to fight pride, focusing on gratitude, humility, and spiritual practices like prayer and worship. We also highlight the importance of community, service, and having a servant’s heart—just like Jesus did. By the end of the episode, we hope you'll be inspired to embrace humility, experience true freedom, and connect with the Lakepointe community. Have you ever thought of breathing as a gift from God? In this final episode of The Daily Drive for 2024, Pastor Breaux shares a heartfelt reflection about winter, Christmas, and the title of Jesus that means the most to him: Emmanuel, "God with us." Even in the cold, dark seasons of life, we are reminded of God’s closeness—just a breath away. With each exhale, we can see evidence of His presence, proof of His proximity. Take a deep breath this Christmas season and remember that the breath of the everlasting God rests in your lungs, waiting to bring His light into the darkness. ➡️ For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What does it mean to seek God? In Athens, Paul meets a culture full of idols and introduces them to the “unknown God”—the Creator who gives life and breath to everything. Pastor Breaux shares how Paul met people where they were, inviting them to seek the God who is not far from any of us. Today, let’s stand by the door, ready to guide others to the God who gives us life and hope. ➡️ For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
How do you respond when life feels like a prison? In Acts 16, Paul and Silas show us the power of worship and prayer even in the darkest moments. After being beaten and shackled for their faith, they sang praises to God at midnight, leading to a miraculous prison break and the transformation of a jailer’s entire family. Join us as Pastor Breaux shares how God’s power can set us free and use our struggles to bring others closer to Him. ➡️ For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What happens when religious traditions clash with the gospel of grace? Today, Pastor Breaux unpacks Acts 15, where the early church faced a pivotal moment. Some Jewish believers wanted to impose old rituals on Gentile converts, but Peter, Paul, and James affirmed that salvation is through faith in Jesus alone—Jesus plus nothing else. This decision brought great joy to the church and set the foundation for how we approach faith today. ➡️ For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Does faith always lead to miracles? In today’s episode, Pastor Breaux walks through the story of Paul and Barnabas in Lystra, where faith led to the miraculous healing of a man who had never walked. While faith doesn’t always produce a miracle, it always precedes one. Paul reminds us to trust in the greater miracle—the new life Jesus offers. However, the miraculous moment led to challenges, as Paul and Barnabas were mistaken for gods and faced persecution. Even so, they pressed on, preaching the good news and walking by faith. ➡️ For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Who is the real enemy we face in life? Today, we look at a powerful moment in Acts 13 where Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, confronts a sorcerer who tried to stop the spread of the good news. This encounter reminds us that our battle is not with people but with the darker spiritual forces at work. Paul’s courage and conviction encourage us to stand firm, put on God’s armor, and resist the schemes of the enemy. Let's keep our hearts strong, be gracious with others, and walk in the victory Christ has given us. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What happens when we live for the approval of others? Today, we dive into Acts 12, where King Herod’s hunger for public approval leads him to do unspeakable things—even executing James and imprisoning Peter. But as Peter sits on death row, the early church prays earnestly, and God intervenes in a miraculous jailbreak, showing that His power goes beyond any earthly authority. This story is a reminder that we’re meant to live for God’s approval, not human applause, finding our worth and security in His love alone. Let’s take encouragement from Peter’s faith and God’s unstoppable power today. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever felt like giving up on someone who let you down? Today, we explore how Barnabas, the “Son of Encouragement,” refused to write off John Mark, even after he abandoned their first missionary journey. While Paul saw him as unreliable, Barnabas chose to believe in Mark’s potential and took him under his wing. This act of perseverance led to Mark’s future as a key figure in spreading the Gospel and as the author of the second book of the New Testament. Barnabas’s commitment to lifting others up, even in failure, challenges us to look beyond mistakes and see the growth that God is working in others. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Do you have someone who believes in you when others don’t? Today, we look at Barnabas, a true encourager, who saw the potential in people, even those others doubted. When the early church was hesitant to accept Saul (later known as Paul), Barnabas took a chance on him, vouching for his transformed life and mentoring him in ministry. Through Barnabas’s example, we’re inspired to look for the good in others, encourage them in their journey, and recognize their God-given potential. Let’s choose today to be intentional about uplifting those around us, offering the same encouragement that God so freely gives to us. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever noticed how generosity can change not only others' lives but your own? Today, we dive into the story of Barnabas, known as “the Son of Encouragement,” who demonstrated the power of a generous and other-centered life. In Acts, we see Barnabas journey to Antioch, where he witnesses God’s transformative work and encourages new believers. His faith and generosity show us that a truly fulfilling life focuses on serving and uplifting others. Join us as we explore why the best way to fill ourselves up is to pour ourselves out for others. There are a number of things that can kill our joy including resentment, regret, fear. If we struggle with any of these things, we can take them to the cross and lay them at the feet of Jesus. Because He is Lord and always on the throne, we can trust that He has a plan and is in control. Let go of the things robbing your joy and cling to Jesus, the only source of true and perfect joy. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
James, Jesus’ brother, encourages us to consider it joy when we face trials and struggles. Even in the midst of our crisis, God is working on our character and making us more like Christ. The joy that comes out of our sufferings is rooted in the fact that the one who loves us and will ultimately overcome the brokenness in the world is with us through every hardship we face. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Does God want you to be happy? Think about this: God is the happiest being in the universe. He invented laughter. He calls us to rejoice and delight in Him. God gave us His Word, and there are over 2,000 verses that include words like joy, happiness, rejoice, feasting, and pleasure. Pray and ask God to help you find lasting joy and happiness in Him alone and not seek out lesser things. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
There is no news in all of history as impactful as the announcement of Jesus’ birth. The message of Jesus is not primarily just good advice, it is good news that changed the world. As opposed to all the other religions around the world, we don’t have to work our way to God. In fact, the good news of Jesus is that God came to us! He came to shed His own blood in order to make a way for us to be with Him forever. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
When you think about God, do you imagine a list of to-dos, or do you see Him as someone you get to enjoy? God never wants us to try and earn His love. He already loves us more than we can even know, and He wants to give us good gifts. Just as the angels proclaimed to the shepherds in Luke 2, God has good news for us about the most amazing gift that will bring us great joy. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever felt questioned for breaking the status quo? Today, we follow Peter’s return to Jerusalem after sharing the Gospel with Gentiles in Caesarea, only to face skepticism from fellow believers. Peter explains the vision he received from God and the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit among the Gentiles, revealing that God’s love and salvation are for everyone. This encounter is a powerful turning point, marking the inclusivity of the early church and affirming that it is the Holy Spirit—not race or tradition—that unites us as one family in Christ. Let’s live with gratitude today, knowing that the door to God’s kingdom is open to all. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever wondered if God’s love truly embraces all people? Today, we witness a pivotal moment as Peter fully embraces his mission to share Jesus with people outside his own culture and tradition. Entering the home of Cornelius, a Roman centurion, Peter delivers the message of Jesus’s love and resurrection to Gentiles, a step that breaks centuries-old boundaries. The Holy Spirit’s powerful presence among Cornelius’s household is a testament to God’s desire for unity and inclusion. Peter’s journey encourages us to break down any personal or cultural walls that separate us from others, offering God’s love to everyone we meet as we live out the truth of one faith and one family. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
In today’s episode, we continue with the powerful story of Peter entering Cornelius’s home—a moment that reveals the true inclusivity of God’s kingdom. As Peter shares the good news of Jesus with Cornelius and his household, the Holy Spirit moves in an undeniable way, confirming that God’s love and salvation are for everyone, regardless of background or identity. This encounter brings two conversions: Cornelius and his family discovering Jesus, and Peter’s own heart opening to God’s vision for all people. This story reminds us that through Jesus, God has torn down every dividing wall and invited everyone into a new community of love and grace. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What does it mean to truly embrace everyone as our neighbor? Today, we explore a turning point in the early church as Peter receives a vision that challenges centuries of exclusivity and prejudice. God shows Peter that His love and salvation are for everyone, not just a select group. This revelation leads Peter to welcome non-Jewish visitors into his home and ultimately to the house of Cornelius, a Roman, where he must decide whether to cross social and cultural barriers. This story invites us to reflect on our own hearts, letting God break down any walls of prejudice or division within us. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever felt challenged to step out of your comfort zone to love others? Today, we follow Peter as God begins a deep work in his heart, challenging him to break down the walls of prejudice he’s carried his entire life. Through a vision, God shows Peter that His love extends far beyond cultural and religious boundaries. Though hesitant, Peter starts to understand that following Jesus means embracing all people, even those he’d once excluded. This story encourages us to examine our own hearts, praying for God to reveal any hidden biases that keep us from truly loving others. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What does it mean to take a public step of faith? Today, we revisit the powerful encounter between Philip and the Ethiopian official as he chooses to be baptized. What happens when God moves us out of our comfort zones? Today, we see how the early church was propelled from familiar surroundings in Jerusalem into challenging territories due to persecution. Though scattered, believers found new ways to spread the message of Jesus, showing us that God often uses our discomfort for greater purposes. Just as He called them out, He calls us to impact lives around us beyond our safe places. Let’s keep our hearts open to God’s leading today, ready to follow wherever He calls. Join us as we look at the life of Stephen, a man full of grace and strength, chosen to serve in the early church during a time of rapid growth. Despite facing fierce opposition, Stephen stood firm in his faith, pointing others to Jesus with unwavering courage. In a moving moment, he looked to heaven and saw Jesus standing in honor, affirming his faithfulness. Stephen's story reminds us that God’s peace can anchor us even in the hardest times. Let’s live today with that same courage, letting God’s love shine through us. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
As the early church continued to grow, the apostles realized they needed help caring for the people. Instead of trying to do everything themselves, they wisely chose other qualified people to serve those in need. God gifts different people for different areas of service because He loves seeing everyone in the church working together. How can you use the gifts God has given you for the benefit of the church? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Ananias and Sapphira saw how Barnabas was praised for his generosity, and they wanted the recognition, too. They tried to lie to Peter and the church, but the Spirit cannot be deceived. By faking their generosity, they revealed that they did not have a proper fear of the Lord. Their deception cost them their lives. What about you? Do you live in awe of the God of the universe who loves you, or do you seek the temporary praise of man? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
The early church in Jerusalem was led by the Holy Spirit and shared what they had with each other. Luke, the author of Acts, singled out one generous individual named Joseph, aka Barnabas, who sold a field and brought it to the church to help those in need. This is not the only place Barnabas shows up in Acts. He also plays a key role in the life of a certain apostle named Saul, aka Paul. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
In Acts 4, Peter and John were taken to the Sanhedrin after they preached about Jesus to the crowds. The religious leaders were angry and demanded that they stop telling others about Jesus. However, the two disciples responded courageously that they would always choose to listen to God, not man. Because of their courage, we can continue to share the good news with others today! For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
There was nothing special about Jesus’ disciples, but He still chose them to play a critical role in the most amazing story in history. After Jesus returned to heaven, two of the disciples, Peter and John, healed a paralytic and shared the good news of Jesus with the crowd. Even though the Pharisees were upset at the disciples, they couldn’t deny what they had seen. They recognized Peter and John had been with Jesus. Would people recognize that in you? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Today, we wrap up our week by looking at the birth of the church in Acts 2. These early believers lived dependently on the Lord. They knew that all they had was Him and their lives were centered around their Savior. What might someone else say is the center of your life? Is it on something temporary that will one day pass away, or is it the Creator of the universe who gave Himself up for you because of His infinite love? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
The last few verses of Acts 2 give us a glimpse of the early church. These new believers devoted themselves to fellowship with each other. They lived vulnerable lives in rich relationships with one another. Living like Christ in the power of the Spirit enables us to live sacrificially, humbly, and generously. May we live counterculturally like the early church so others are drawn to the God who saves. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
After Peter’s very first sermon in Acts 2, over 3,000 people believed! At the very beginning of the church, all the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and caring for each other. Every day, God added to their number and these new believers wanted to hear more about Jesus. Do you have a teachable heart like theirs that is hungry for more of Jesus? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
As Jesus prepared to leave His disciples, He promised they would not be alone. He would send them a gift. In Acts 2, we can read the amazing story of when the gift of the Holy Spirit came to live inside all the believers. Empowered by the Spirit, those men and women shared the Good News of Jesus to everyone around them, and the church was born. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Join us this week as we begin looking at the book of Acts. Just like the people of the early church, we need help outside ourselves to live in this world. Jesus saved them and He is willing to save us. Not only that, when we believe in Him, He lives in us. Think about that. The same Holy Spirit that we will see working through the people in Acts is in us, too! For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Join us today as we wrap up our week, talking about the fear of the Lord. Too often, we spend more time listening to presentations about God than seeking to be in the presence of God. The God from the Old Testament is the same Jesus who came to save sinners, and He is the same One who will return and reign over the world. He longs for us to spend time with Him, and we will one day see Him face to face. Until that day, may we walk in the fear of the Lord. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
The fear of God destroys the fear of anything else. Psalm 39 and Isaiah 66 remind us that God will be with, bless, and protect those who fear Him. These and other passages of Scripture are how God communicates with us how much He loves us and what it looks like to live in a way that honors Him. How might you better prioritize the text messages God is sending you through His Word this week? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
This week, we have been looking at Deuteronomy 14:4 and what it means to fear the Lord. One of the competing fears many of us wrestle with is fear of man. Only one can win. On the night of Jesus’ crucifixion, Peter’s fear of man was stronger, and he denied Christ. Yet after Peter saw the risen Jesus, he couldn’t stop sharing the gospel and wanted to please God more than man. Which Peter are you today? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Have you ever considered why the Bible asks us to fear the Lord? Scripture helps us understand who God really is. He is a God who saves and defeats His enemies. He is compassionate and yet also a consuming fire. He is a holy, perfect, and just God. He is the one we sin against, and because of His greatness, our well-deserved punishment is severe. Yet our infinite, loving God offers us grace through the blood of Jesus: an infinite gift we could never repay. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
God is infinitely more glorious and powerful than we can ever understand. The Bible tells us that our appropriate response is the fear of the Lord. Deuteronomy tells us that the fear of God is to obey His commands, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him with the highest reverence and trembling. What is your heart posture towards God this week? Would you say you fear God the way the Bible describes? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Nehemiah's leadership qualities exemplify the art of recognizing potential, envisioning success and collaborating with the team as a servant leader. He values and acknowledges everyone who contributes to the mission while attributing all achievements to God and celebrating His goodness. Exceptional leaders genuinely prioritize bringing people together, paving the path for lost people to establish a meaningful relationship with God. Remember, every person holds significant value in the eyes of God. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Nehemiah's excellent leadership character traits showed how big and great God is. Nehemiah's unified team was able to do the impossible and rebuild the wall in supernatural record-breaking days. Completing God's vision of building the kingdom of heaven requires a unified team that appreciates everyone's unique skill sets and humble hearts that deflect all credit to God's greatness. Only God can genuinely pull off something that is true, great, and that will last. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
When leaders have a strong vision, they can ask for help for a cause and have people motivated to join the process. Nehemiah serves as an exemplary model by motivating and commending those who assisted him in reconstructing the protective wall around God's nation. People thrive on recognition for their positive contributions, appreciating acknowledgment rather than constant correction. Consider expressing gratitude today towards those deserving of appreciation for their dedication. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
A great leader is contagiously forward-thinking with a fresh vision despite the history of hard times. Nehemiah had a humble boldness, and because of that, he could ask others to partner with him. He did so because courage is not the absence of fear but moving ahead despite fear. A great leader is contagiously forward-thinking with a fresh vision despite the history of hard times. Nehemiah had a humble boldness, and because of that, he could ask others to partner with him. He did so because courage is not the absence of fear but moving ahead despite fear. "The king said to me, 'What is it you want?' Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, 'If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.'" You may not be able to write a clear definition of authenticity, but you know it when you see it. Daniel’s character and active faith impacted not just those around him but multiple generations of royals and the lost nation of Babylon. “...For he is the living God, and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.’ So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian” (Daniel 6:26-28 NIV). What would someone say about your character? Are you the real deal? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Daniel was cast into the lion’s den because he committed to worshipping God despite an unjust decree. His integrity and steadfast prayer routine were crucial in keeping him safe. Despite the challenges, Daniel aimed to maintain a humble connection with God daily. Do people around you know who you serve continually? “So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” (Daniel 6:16) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
How do you react when you end up in a place you never thought you would be or should ever be in? Are you passive or prepared to stand tall? “Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or with the wine he drank. So he asked permission from the chief official not to defile himself.” (Daniel 1:8 HCSB). Humbly and boldly live for God, just like Daniel. Daniel shifted the narrative and took control of his life while in Babylonian captivity. Resolved in his heart, he was going to walk in The Truth. Therefore, today, hold deeply held convictions before you are placed in tempting, high-pressure environments. Don't let the line of integrity be crossed in your heart. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
How do you deal with the temptation of pride or losing your godly identity in a faithless culture? You walk like Daniel… striving to serve with joy and honor while staying close to God. When we walk with our heavenly Father daily, we are able to process God’s promises, His character, and the identity He has created us for. What cultural identity theft do you need God to speak truth in today? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Defining integrity can be challenging; it's often easier to recognize than articulate. This week, we focus on studying Daniel, emphasizing authenticity and Godly character when placed in unholy cultures. “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Roman 12:2 HCSB) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What keeps you from living with deep conviction and God's confidence? The metaphor of fire burning away obstacles signifies spiritual purification and freedom. Walking through challenges with Jesus can lead to transformation without any lingering smells of smoke. Trusting in God's supernatural power while in the fire can bring healing and the breaking of bonds that tie you to a fresh start in life. What kind of ropes have you bound up and need Jesus to burn them up? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

Solid friendships and a healthy community are highlighted throughout the Bible, emphasizing that we are better together, as seen with the friendship of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. In times of solitude or vulnerability when away from supportive friends, relying on God for strength becomes essential. Proverbs 18:10 underscores the unshakable strength of God, emphasizing the importance of having strong friends in our lives while ultimately depending on God for support. In the Book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar takes young Israelite men captive to serve in Babylon. Despite being captives, they remain devoted to God and demonstrate integrity, respect, and kindness. In chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar builds a 90-foot gold statue for worship, leading Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to refuse to bow down out of loyalty to God despite the risk involved. These three men exemplify courage, faith, and devotion to the one true God while serving under challenging circumstances. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
How are the odds stacked against you right now? In the conclusion of the story of Gideon, we see God's remarkable power demonstrated by 300 men defeating a solid military force using unconventional methods. The book of Judges highlights how divine intervention can lead to triumph even in challenging circumstances. No matter what your reality is today, God is with you! Cry out to God, and step out in faith by tearing down false gods in your life. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
God specializes in overcoming overwhelming odds. God transformed Gideon from a shy farmer into a mighty warrior, preparing him to lead a ragtag team of 300 Israelites in defending and liberating God’s people from the Midianites, who were the dominant military force in the region then. The nation of Israel endured seven years of oppression and cried out to God for deliverance. In response, God raised up Gideon to lead them. God instructed Gideon to construct an altar and demolish the false gods worshipped by the rebellious Israelites, emphasizing the need to remove false gods and idols. Similarly, we are urged to eliminate anything in our lives that does not reflect God's image. Reflect on the idols or false gods that may be exerting control over your life today, and consider what aspects you need to surrender to God. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

Faith is not the absence of fear, it’s the presence of trust in the midst of fear. Faith in God doesn’t eliminate fear, it overrides fear; this can be seen when God is speaking to Joshua as he is trying to lead the Israelite people. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Holiness is what God wants for us: to be set apart and fully His. “And [ the angels ] were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.’”- Isaiah 6:3 (NIV) Holy is not used to describe God; sometimes, it is who He is all the time. Today, Pastor Carlos will discuss what it means to go deeper in holiness. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
God wants to be known and be known by you. He desires to have a personal relationship and quality time together. Jesus first called his disciples to be in His presence rather than focusing on outward actions or changing the world. To remain in Jesus is to align your life so that everything moves toward more intimacy with God. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
In moments of darkness when you feel lost, desperate, and overwhelmed, Jesus stands by your side, offering light, hope, and healing. As you embrace the light and experience transformation in your life, you'll be empowered to extend that same healing and hope to others with Jesus by your side. “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’ So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” (Mark 5:18-20 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Remember, there's nothing in your life that God can't uncover. Jesus will always be there to cover you in His righteousness. We do not want salvation for the purpose of behavior modifications but to be transformed so that we can walk in freedom. Committing is not the same as surrendering; just like trying is not the same as trusting. You need to have humility. Humility is the key to everything, every situation, and every relationship. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Being so focused on yourself will lead you to self-destruct. Forgiveness of sin and transformation needs a humble heart without pride. Put yourself under God’s love and authority today; you don’t have to be the one calling all the shots. God does know better, and He wants better for you. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Want to impress God or want to truly amaze Jesus? Then, be humbled, surrender, and recognize the authority of God’s word. “When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, ‘I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.’ Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant well.” (Luke 7: 9-10 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
The Centurion Soldier mentioned in Luke 7 wasn't a flawless religious figure, yet he profoundly understood true authority and leadership. He recognized the extraordinary power within Jesus because both leaders grasped the importance of valuing individuals regardless of their position in society. “So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: ‘Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.’” (Luke 7:6-7 NIV) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Genuine leaders are distinguished by their authority, which is not derived from titles but from how they interact with others. Authority cannot be forced or assumed through promotion; it must be voluntarily acknowledged by those who submit. The culture dictates that individuals in authority should hold others accountable, acknowledge their achievements, and accept them as they are. Reflecting on Luke 7 reveals how Jesus consistently defies societal norms to demonstrate love and engage deeply with each individual encountered. When we encounter God, our lives undergo miraculous transformations. As our hearts and lives are altered, we feel a calling to share our stories so that others may also experience the gifts of healing, peace, joy, and love that we have found in Jesus. Who do you need to share your story with today? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Encountering God and experiencing His love ignites a profound transformation in our lives, making it nearly impossible to remain silent. This personal encounter fills us with an infectious joy and gratitude that has the power to positively impact any situation. With humility and the peace of His presence, we are inspired to share with others the remarkable work God has done in our lives and what He is capable of doing in theirs.
Jesus responds to people's suffering with a personal encounter. Before He spoke healing into the man with leprosy in Luke 5, Jesus conveyed his compassion through a simple gesture - reaching out his hand and touching him. It is a reminder that many individuals we encounter daily long for that caring touch, seeking reassurance of their value and significance. Today, take a moment to consider whom you can embrace and uplift with positive words. Who needs to hear about the transformative impact of Jesus in your life? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Jesus was not just an accessible rabbi, but also the most approachable man to ever walk the earth. Even those considered untouchable during that era, like lepers, could have a close and personal interaction with Jesus. Individuals afflicted with leprosy in those days faced severe consequences - loss of employment, reputation, relationships, health, and, worst of all, a loss of hope. Despite these challenges, Jesus extended His hand, as seen in Luke 5:13: “Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
You will never be seen as an untouchable in the eyes of the Heavenly Father. “Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be clean!’ And immediately the leprosy left him.” ( Luke 5:13). God could, and He would if He was sought after. In the narrative found in Luke 5, Jesus comes across a man afflicted with leprosy. Notably, Jesus did not partake in cancel culture; instead, His actions focused on canceling sin. Reflecting on this, ask yourself: What aspects of your life require you to seek out Jesus today? For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Jesus has the power to redeem any life. Following her redemption, the woman at the well found the confidence and joy to openly share her story with a community that had previously shamed her. Redemption, often considered a “churchy” term, can be understood in four distinct facets: making someone acceptable, restoring reputation, atonement, or reclaiming what was lost. Jesus won’t get distracted by your change of subject and shallow conversations. Jesus sees beyond the surface, embracing your past and present with compassion. He offers a safe haven for genuine conversations. Jesus is ready to understand you deeply today; spend some time with him in deep conversation. “ The woman said to Him, ‘I know that Messiah is coming’ (who is called Christ). ‘When He comes, He will explain everything to us.’ ‘I am He,’ Jesus told her, ‘the One speaking to you.’” (John 4:25-26) For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
What is your soul really thirsty for? Where are you drawing your water to fill up your bucket? Jesus intentionally shared meals and sat with those he loved, as seen in Matthew 9:9-13. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Jesus knocking at the door in Revelation is often interpreted as a call for unbelievers to let him into their lives, but in reality, he speaks to churchgoers in Laodicea. Despite their outward religious practices, Jesus sees that they have left him outside. The verse emphasizes the need for intentional pursuit of intimacy with God rather than just going through religious motions. Jesus' message challenges believers to listen and allow him into their hearts for true connection and relationship. Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
If you’re a Christian, you need to keep this in mind, God responds to 100% of your prayers. Sometimes, he does so by saying YES. Other times he does so, by saying NO. And often, he does so by saying NOT YET. What happens when we ask, as Jesus taught us, and it seems God is not responding to our prayers, even good prayers? John 14:13-14 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
God is not angry with you, tired of you messing up, or exhausted by you. We rejoice that His thoughts and His ways are not the same as our thoughts and our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Most people assume that prayer should be primarily a way to “get God to give me what I want”, but Jesus teaches that prayer is primarily us, aligning our will with God’s. Today, take your time and meditate on what you’re praying. Fix your mind first and your Heavenly Father’s name, his kingdom, and what His will is. Then, pour out your heart as you ask for forgiveness and protection and as you share your needs with him. Matthew 6:9-13 “This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive
Paul is saying your heart can be satisfied whether you have much or little, whether you have achieved your goals or not, and whether things seem to be going well or not. Philippians 4:13 speaks primarily of how, with Christ, your heart can find contentment, satisfaction, and confidence regardless of your circumstances. Contentment doesn’t come when you have everything you want; it comes when you realize that in Christ, you have everything you need. Philippians 4:11-13 (NTV), Paul says this: “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.” For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

If we don’t face the emotions that come with disappointment, we will end up facing discouragement, which can turn into depression. God loves you and wants you to be honest with him. He is still good. He hears your prayers and sits with you in your pain, all while He is working behind the scenes in the midst of your disappointment. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

But strategic guardrails set by Godly wisdom keep you from danger and prevent having to do damage control. Proverbs 4:25-27 provides us with guardrails we can put in place today.
