Marta decided to revamp the episode she had previously recorded about the history of Cinco de Mayo. That was the fifth episode of this podcast! Now, after a full year of experience, she decided to publish this revised version without deleting the original. Why? In case some teachers have already materials created with the first version; Marta didn't want their materials to not work anymore! What are the differences: The first version was longer, and a bit more complex. This new episode is under 4 minutes long in the slower version and has fewer English translations. Another difference between this version and the last one is that here, Marta says that Mexico was part of the French Empire for 5 years more or less. The first episode that was recorded last year says that it was 3. It all depends on how things are looked at. Some historians count the French intervention from the beginning of the conflict and some others do not. In any case, both episodes talk about the approximate time of this issue.
